Anyone who has taken part in a winter’s day fishing around a lake, will never forget it. Visions of water crawling with fish, men around the fire, enormous carp, children devouring half-cooked fish from the embers, the gargantuan meal to close the day.
In France, around the Dombes, Sologne or again Bresse, there are thousand of lakes, and the importance of this day of fishing by a lake is the result of a year’s dedicated work.
So, in Bresse, for example, such a fishing day is quite a story.
But the life of a lake is not summed up in a simple day’s fishing!
Lakes have had to be created, sometimes centuries ago, to hold back and collect any superfluous water.
